New Years ResolutionSo, here we are half way through January 2016.  How are you doing with your resolutions?  Still keeping them or have you gone the way of most and fallen back to the “same old, same old”?!!  You know “they” say that if you do things 3 times, 7 times or for a month it becomes a habit.  Which is right, I wonder.  I think if you really are intent to make a change in your life then you will consciously work at it.  Of course, asking the Lord for guidance, help and encouragement goes a long way!!  Believe it or not He cares about every aspect of your life and He’s there for you … all the way!

As I’ve aged I’ve noticed that I have become more confident in many ways, more patient and, yes, more wise!  Instead of making rash decisions I pause to think, evaluate and consult.  Often there’s that still small voice pointing out the advantage (or disadvantage) and I’ve learned it’s a good thing to listen!!  That being said, I don’t do New Year’s resolutions.  I learned a long time ago that for me they don’t really work.  It has to be a resolve that I truly want to change or do or become.

If you are still following your resolution … Congratulations!  I admire your commitment.  If yours has fallen by the wayside ask yourself was it really something I wanted to do or just something to do because it was New Year’s?  Keep in mind there is a God-shaped void in every one of us.  When we ask Christ to fill it He will and what we become is what He planned for us all along.  My “resolution” is to continue becoming the woman Christ wants me to be in every aspect of my life.  (Proverbs 3 : 5 – 6)
